FastFlex is the newest variation of our SkinFlex III. It was developed in response to repeated customer requests for a material system that can be demolded within several hours. With a demold time of two hours or less, FastFlex has accomplished this and much more.
One practical example of how demold time can vary is when FastFlex is applied as a face-coat then backed with polyurethane foam. The heat generated by the foam expedites the curing of the thin skin and demold can be achieved in about one hour. When FastFlex is used as a mold material, the thickness applied will dictate how rapid demold can occur. If an application requires a quarter inch thickness or more of the FastFlex material, demold can often take only 1 1/2 - 2 hours at room temperature.
Like its sister product SkinFlex III, FastFlex is also available as a three component system. The third component, called part "C", determines the variation in the softness and degree of stretch attainable by the material. When the "C" component is used, work times and demold times will increase.
FastFlex can be used for a variety of applications, including the creation of soft, yet flexible and durable skins for animated characters, costumes, prosthetics, and various parts and molds.
